Project 64k (Online) - Vidoy - 12-03-2015 Project 64k
The most popular emulator for online play, with Kaillera support, a NetPlay system allowing people to play online without a server (Peer-to-Peer). You may use this to play online with your friends from all over the world, but the closer the better. Project 64k is somehow outdated, and even the creator of this project recommends using Mupen64++ to play online instead. Below is a list of games and hacks, an how they work in the emulators while playing online. Green = Working Yellow = Working, if you take precautions Red = Barely/Not Working
Version Recommendation The Standard Version 0.13 is still recommended by the author for the best experience. However, Mupen64++ is much more recommended by everyone. 0.13 Standard version: P.S: You and everyone playing with you must have the same version of Project64k to play together. Tutorial This GIF shows you how to simply setup the game for online play. A more describing guide is available at http://howtopj64k.tripod.com Visit Website The developer's blog is the most known website, containing downloads and some tips and tricks to speed it up. http://pj64k.blogspot.com However, the official website is pj64k.emulation64.com Downloads
Versions based on Project64 2.2 is available here: https://github.com/Ownasaurus/Project64k-Core-2.2/releases RE: Project 64k (Online) - Gleap - 01-05-2016 I have been having an issue with this emulator. The only rom name that shows up correctly is Smash 64. "Super Smash Bros. (U) [!]" Everybody in the netplay lobbies have ROM names that end with "[!]" and my only rom that shows up that way is Smash. However, if I use Mupen and load the same exact roms they have the correct names and I can play them online with others. I would just ditch PJ64k in favor of Mupen but hardly anyone uses it in the netplay lobbies. I can confidently say that 9/10 times I see someone hosting Mario Kart 64 it is someone running PJ64k. Anytime I try to join a room on PJ64k other than Smash I get this message, "The rom 'Mario Kart 64 (U) [!]' is not in your list." but the rom is indeed in my list. At first I assumed I had the wrong roms but after downloading several different roms nothing changed and as I mentioned before, Mupen does not have this issue with the same roms. I'm not too sure what to do about this issue. I want to play with others but they all seem to be running PJ64k. RE: Project 64k (Online) - Vidoy - 01-08-2016 Hey there, welcome to the forums ![]() Unfortunately we don't have a lot of emulator experts here, more of the rom experts I guess, try http://www.emutalk.net, they should know the solution ![]() RE: Project 64k (Online) - Gleap - 01-12-2016 (01-08-2016, 02:12 AM)Vidoy Wrote: Hey there, welcome to the forums Thanks RE: Project 64k (Online) - Gaudy - 10-06-2016 Hi everyone, well... this is so old new (2011), I yet remember when this happened: Didn't exist a source from PJ64K, then there wasn't another way to support the emulator than reverse engineering and several updates for the CHT and RDB files. Only the CHT file was around 220 hours(1 year) increasing 16k to 30k lines code. Obviously, the work was unofficial, because PJ64K code was close. Later I was really surprised when I saw a supposedly of another work called PJ64K version 0.14 and up (obviously dont exist those versions because the last one was 0.13 closed [author hotquik]) with our work (CHT, RDB, etc.) That work was a PJ64K7E dressed of PJ64K updates from Smasherx74. and all credit are re-written Smasherx74 as the author and published his blog as the official work (In the CHT, About Windows, etc. ). In that moment I tried raising voice, but was useless while I was seeing all people preferred PJ64K 0.XX Evidence: https://smashboards.com/threads/project64k-0-14-0-15-0-16-0-17-0-18-what.301827/ All pics are down and the forum works is down too, but you can see the people reaction =S Later he apologized and changed the credits, but he left many others outside, and well... we felt a little bit better And well... the next year I didnt want continue with K7E, cant continue with this, the Core 0.14 always had a lot of bugs and ds problems, its impossible try keep working the emulator with only reverse engineering. And later I knew I shouldn't distribute the K7E due to a problem with policies of pj64 material use, but we could continue working in files apart way. And well... I am not looking for anything, just I let this anecdote. But I download this now, and I can see the CHT file is deleted again the authors (Gaudy and Gent) Sorry for all of this, I know I was acting a child in this post, but I had to unburden, the past is in the past >< @Vidoy , that PJ64K Core 1.6 is the same of all times, Core 1.4, doesnt exist a PJ64k Core 1.6 base. @Gleap , because the RDB file is from PJ64 1.6 or up. For that reason is missing the dump symbol "[!]", you have to download the RDB file from PJ64 1.4 (or the last update of Smasherx74's PJ64K), replace it, open your emulator and press F5 for update your ROMs List with right GoodNames. PD : Somebody know if PJ64K Core 2.2 works well? I tried several times witha friend but has more problems than the obsolete Core 1.4 RE: Project 64k (Online) - Vidoy - 10-06-2016 Thank you for the info ![]() ![]() |
