I Want To Start Making Hacks - Dubhagan13 - 08-30-2018
Hello, as the title says I want to start making hacks. However, my problem is that I don't know much about hacking. As well as this I also can't use Toads Tool that I've heard is a good tool for hacking. I try to run it but nothing happens. But In general, I just don't know where to start, what tools to use, what tools I need to use etc. So if anyone could give some advice on what to do that would be amazing!

it has always been use
- sm64 editor to import models, music, tweaks, etc
- toads tool 64 to move/change objects
also, ASM, a programming language, and editing the hex in the rom is used for advanced custom behavior
if you want custom sounds you are probable out of luck bc NO ONE HAS RELEASED ANY DOCUMENTATION ON THIS
(if u know how pls tell me)many people use sketchup for modelling, but this program is outdated and hard to get these days so i would recommend Blender
also, you said a rom wouldnt open. i would recommend backing up your romhack with every major change you make. also watch this video by kaze

"Toad's Tool 64" isn't working for most systems anymore. Yet I can help a bit, though you should try watching some tutorials, I recommend using "Quad64" as object editing, I recommend either "SM64 Rom Manager" or "SM64 Editor" for Level Importing, and I recommend "SketchUp" for making 3D Levels. Though if you want to go more advanced, use "Blender", "SketchUp" is the best for beginners. If you need more help, you can either ask help here in the forums, or at "hack64.net".

Alternatively (but not by now), you can check out this forum page here, though it is a bit outdated, I am sure there will be someone that will start making more and better tutorials.
