Would require a lot of ASM/Assembly code knowledge, should probably not be your first hack. Maybe Kaze would be interested in teaming up with you, it might be worth asking Mario He's known for knowing the most about coding SM64.

Otherwise, it's also possible to hack Super Mario RPG quite thoroughly at this point, with the Lazy Shell editor. Paper Mario's also making quite a progress. What ever you decide, please keep us up to date Yoshi
