Whenever I enter Giant Isle of Mystery in Openworld Quest, the game crashes or freezes. Initially I would get an "Unhandled R4300i" error & occasionally the emulator would just crash. After messing with some settings, what ended up happening was the stage's music would start playing but the stage itself wouldn't load & the screen would just stay black. The emulator I'm using is Project64 1.6.

I've seen this problem mentioned at least once elsewhere, but without a solution, so if anyone knows if there is a solution, I would be grateful. If I need to provide more info, please tell me.

Try setting counter factor to 1, idk if that will work but it's worth a shot

I tried that along with almost any other configuration for rom settings, but nothing seemed to work.

The best results i had were when i set the CPU core style to Recompiler & Self-modifying core method to Cache, in which case if the emulator didn't crash, a few more frames would pass before the opcode error.
